About Fontnook
Fontnook turns ordinary text into stylized Unicode text — the kind you can paste straight into an Instagram bio, a Discord name, a chat message, or a caption. Type once, and every style updates instantly so you can pick the one you like and copy it.
How it actually works
Every style on this site is built from real Unicode characters — the same underlying character set your keyboard and browser already understand. Some styles pull letters from separate mathematical alphabets that Unicode reserves for exactly this purpose (bold, italic, fraktur, and similar). Others attach a small "combining" mark after each letter to add lines, dots, or accents. Others simply wrap your text in a pair of symbols. None of it is an image or a custom font file — it's just different, valid characters, which is why it pastes correctly on most platforms.
What it isn't
It isn't a way to change the actual font your device uses system-wide, and it isn't fully accessible — screen readers can struggle with styled Unicode text, so we'd suggest sticking to plain text anywhere accessibility matters (forms, official documents, anything a visually impaired reader depends on).
Support also varies by app and device. Some older devices or apps may show empty boxes for certain styles, so it's worth checking how your text looks before you post it.

Who is behind Fontnook
Fontnook's content is written and edited by Sehal Shakeel, a psychologist by training and a college professor who teaches psychology to undergraduate students. She has worked as a content writer and editor since 2019.
What ties it together is understanding how people think and read. Teaching means explaining complex ideas simply. Psychology means knowing what makes a reader trust a page and keep reading. Editing turns both into clear, useful writing. That is the standard behind the explanations, guides and FAQs on this site.

Privacy, in short
Everything runs in your browser. The text you type is never sent to a server. Favorites and recently used styles are saved only on your own device. The only information we receive is what you choose to send through the contact form. See the Privacy Policy for the full detail.
